Goldwater Scholarship
(Deadline to declare intent to apply is October 20, 2008)
- Junior science and math majors with a 3.0 or above GPA.
- This fellowship is for students who are
commitment to a career in math or natural sciences.
It is to be used to help pay for one or two years of undergraduate
schooling in the fields of
Mathematics or Science.
- Varying amounts.
Harry S. Truman Scholarship
(Campus deadline is December 8, 2008)
- This scholarship is for outstanding juniors
who intend to pursue careers in public service. It
can be used for one year of college and three years of graduate school.
- Up to $30,000.
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation
(Deadlines will be posted fall 2008)

- Seniors and recent college graduates.
- This fellowship is for students who are planning to study at an
accredited university (in the
US or Abroad). It is for those outstanding students leaders who show an
appreciation for or
participation in the arts and humanities. It can be used for one year of
college and three
years of graduate school.
- Varying amounts.
Udall Scholarship (Deadline February 4,
2009)
- Sophomore or Junior with a 3.0 or above GPA.
- This scholarship is used to encourage outstanding students to pursue
careers related to
Environmental public policy. It is also intended to encourage
outstanding students who are
Native American and Alaska natives to pursue careers related to health
care and tribal
public policy.
- Varying amounts.
Fellowships for Study Abroad:
Rhodes Scholarship
(Deadline September 19, 2008)
- Senior, Citizen of the United States, under the age of 24, & completing
a Bachelor’s degree before October 1st.
- This Scholarship is used to help support students who wish to study at
Oxford University.
There are only 32 scholarships for individuals from the United States.
- Varying amounts.
British Marshall Scholarship
(Deadline September 12, 2008)
- Seniors and recent college graduates. Applicants must also have a 3.7
GPA, be a United States citizen, & must complete their Bachelor’s degree
before the scholarship takes effect.
- This scholarship is used to help support students who wish to study for
two years at British
University. They are awarded to individuals who can be expected
to make a significant
contribution to their society.
- Varying amounts.
Fulbright Grant
(Deadline September 23, 2008)
- Seniors and graduate students. An applicant must be a United States
citizen at the time of application and hold a Bachelor’s degree by the beginning of the grant. (Creative & Performing artists are not required to
have a Bachelor’s degree, but must have four years of relevant training to have a Bachelor’s degree, but must have four
years of relevant training or study) All applicants are required to have sufficient
proficiency in the language or the host country.
- This Grant is meant to help students financially who wish to study (or
teach) abroad.
- Varying amounts.
Mitchell Scholarship
(Deadline September 12, 2008)
- Seniors and recent graduates. An applicant must have completed a
Bachelor’s degree by
the beginning of the grant.
- This scholarship is meant to help students who wish to pursue graduate
study or research in
either the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland.
- This scholarship
provides tuition and housing, as well as living and travel stipends.
Gates Cambridge Scholarship
(Deadline Date not yet established)

Awarded only to students who gain admission to Cambridge through the regular procedures.
- This scholarship is meant to help students who wish to study at Cambridge
and are believed to have the ability to make a significant contribution to their discipline while in Cambridge, with a strong aptitude for research, analysis and a creative approach to
defining and solving problems they are presented with.
- Covers the full cost of study at Cambridge for a single person.
Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship
(Deadline Date(s) not yet established)
- Students who have completed at least two years of university work and
are being endorsed
by their local Rotary Club.

Scholarships are directed to individuals who are eager to become "ambassadors of good
will" in a foreign country.
- Varying amounts.
National Security Education Program
(Deadline January 21, 2009)
- Students who will make a commitment to federal service. (You will be
required to work for either an agency of the federal government with
national security responsibilities or to work in the field of higher education in the area of study for which the
scholarship was awarded).

NSEP was designed to provide U.S. undergraduates with the resources and encouragement
they need to acquire skills and experience in countries and areas of the
world critical to the future security of our nation.
